The Heart's Timeline
I cannot seem to escape this timeline
the ups and downs of my heart
a film isn’t just a film
it’s a DVD I lent a girl in 2006
because a character reminded me of her
and now in 2017
I’m reminded of her
and some other innocuous event
will force me to realise
I really don’t have any memories
that don’t involve
some girl from some time
and how sure I was.
