Journal History
Offset was launched in 2001 by Dr Ian Syson as a vehicle for 3rd year College of Arts students at Victoria University to put into practice skills they had learnt in their writing, editing and publishing classes.
The journal has since grown in scope such that the role of the Offset team now also
includes web design, public relations, fundraising, marketing and distribution as key learning outcomes of the project.
Since 2009 the Offset Creative Arts Journal has grown to include:
- Multimedia DVD
- Music CD
- Art exhibition
The journal is composed of prose, poetry, artwork, music, textiles, sculptures and multimedia. Submitted by both Victoria University students, and from those in the wider community, we encourage contributions nationally, from around the globe, and even in languages other than English.
